About moviejuice is an Adelaide-based film collective dedicated to the screening and production of alternative and experimental cinema. As both programmers and filmmakers, they are committed to fostering communal spaces for boundary-pushing film work on Kaurna land, with an emphasis on the Australian film scene and its future.

As a screening collective, they have run film and music events in both theatrical and DIY spaces. Their events have spanned a diverse range of themes, including new Australian and international independent cinema, repertory programs that champion undersung corners of film history, and live-score events with local bands that bring together their local arts community.

As a production collective, they have completed three microbudget features and seven shorts, with four new features currently in pre-production. Stylistically diverse but united by a shared DIY sensibility, collectively their work uncovers the routine absurdities and occasional moments of transcendence found amongst the haunted landscapes of 21st-century South Australia.

moviejuice is Shea Gallagher, Emily Pottinger, Daniel Tune, Gabriel Bath, and anyone who has ever come to a screening.

Their screenings and films have been covered by the ABC, The Age, The Curb, Pure Shit Australian Cinema, and Rough Cut Film.

moviejuice at Adelaide Film Festival:
SCUM ‘87 and CHRONOVISOR

At AFF 2026, Moviejuice returns with an evening of historical conspiracy and paranoia amongst the abyssal depths of the archive. Kevin Walker and Jack Auen’s Rotterdam favourite Chronovisor and local hero Gabriel Bath’s Scum ‘87 burrow through hidden records and esoteric media in a series of late-night research binges that gradually take over the psyche. Falling down a rabbit hole of mysterious literary and audiovisual ephemera, both films form a DIY diptych on the pleasures and horrors of the deep dive, and the manifold ways that one can find themselves trapped in the past.

moviejuice operates on the stolen lands of the Kaurna People, the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Adelaide region.
We pay our respects to their Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.
